How it works: Connect Statesboro and Buffalo’s are looking for 6 of the hottest bands in the region to participate in the Battle of the Bands 2011 at Buffalo’s on April 30. Enter your video or audio files under the Submissions Tab from March 21 to April 17 to be eligible to be chosen for the event on April 30.
Once we narrow down the submissions to the top 6 by April 18, get your fans and friends to vote for you throughout the voting period (April 18 through April 29). The band with the most votes at the end of the online contest will win the Connect Viewers’ Choice award and receive a prize the day of the event from Deloach's Music. A $2500 GUARANTEEDcash prize, 4 hours of free studio time, and a cover photo and article from Connect Statesboro will go to the winning band!
You must submit your video or audio file into the connectstatesboro.com contest to be eligible for the April 30 event. The panel of music judges will determine the top 6 bands that will go into the round two and be eligible to play a 45 minute set at the event. The order of the bands at the event will be drawn at random and announced.
Round two voting of the 6 bands that will be in the event on April 30 will determine the Connect Viewers’ Choice Award.
Submission period to enter your video or audio files to be eligible is March 21 to April 10. Late registration ends April 17. Viewers’ Choice Voting Period between the top 6 bands for the event is April 18 to April 29 with each registered user able to vote up to ten times a day.

Once the 6 bands are decided on and contacted, those 6 bands will remain on the voting site for readers and viewers to pick their favorite band to win the Connect Viewers Choice Award.
The online contest plays no part in the voting process the day of the Battle of the Bands. The online voting is used to promote the event and to get people out to the battle!
Rules the day of the event and to enter:
1. You must be available the entire day of the event to play in your designated time slot once chosen.
2. You must be able to perform one original song
3. Voting to determine the winner will be in two parts:
50% of the voting will come from the three judges’ panel and their criteria (TBA)
50% will come from the people attending the event’s vote. When a person enters the event, they will be handed a ticket to vote for their favorite band throughout the event.
Each person will get only one vote during the event.
